How did you know it was time?

Question

This is for experienced mammas. How did “you know” it was really happening?
I have lots of painful Braxton Hicks contractions that I’m Constantly thinking oh today is the day.  I have had several false alarms and even my drs are shocked I’m still pregnant. 
Can you share your stories of how you knew for sure?
I’m so nervous I’m going to miss the epidural window lol

I’ve heard that the best thing to do is to ignore them until you can’t. Once you can’t focus on anything else but then, it’s time. 
Best of luck!! I’ve also been having prodromal labor this time around. It’s mentally and physically exhausting so be gentle with yourself in the coming days.

My water broke and then the contractions got really intense !

I have regular BH with my son and he never came on his own. Every week from 36 weeks on, my doctor would say “this is the week.” 😒 I was induced at 41+1 and he came at 41+3. Sometimes all the signs are there but baby just isn’t ready

With my last pregnancy I actually went to the bathroom and had a little spotting right around the time contractions started. I downloaded an app to keep up with the frequency of my contractions. I labored at home for 2-3 hours and when the contractions were painful enough where I couldn’t stand up straight and they were 3 mins apart, I went to the hospital! I was so afraid they were going to send me home so I probably waited longer than I needed to! BUT, I could definitely tell the difference between the painful BHs I’d been having and active labor. Hope this helps!

What is your doctor's response to you having a lot of painful BH's?
My doctor told me they weren't supposed to be painful and if they were too frequent I would have to go in for checks too.
I haven't been having a lot of them, not that I know of anyways.
