How to clean wood floors

How can I keep our floors clean? I use a microfiber moo to sweep and then use a floor cleaner but our floors are still filthy! Like if I wipe something up- the towel is brown even if it’s right after I mopped 😩 please help!

This is what we use on our wood floors. Are yours laminate or stained wood? It’s possible that you’re getting residual color if it’s stained.

I like Bona wood floor cleaner and it’s Greenguard certified, which means it’s safe to use around babies, pets, etc. I also like Dr. Bronners Sal Suds, which is also nontoxic. We have wood floors throughout our house and although I clean them 1x a week, I think the best way to keep them clean is to not wear shoes in the house. Our floors stay much cleaner than my mom’s floors because she and my dad wear shoes inside.

What are you using to mop? The best thing I ever did for my floors was invest in a good steam mop.

I literally bought this to deep clean our floors. On a side note though for our wood floors I used the sponge attachment. ( I needed the scrub brushes bc we have linoleum 😩. ) anyway after I scrubbed it I use our wood floor attachment to our vacuum every night to keep it clean and mop every other day. It works for us and hubby comes home covered in dirt so they get dirty fast.  We also implemented a no shoe rule bc our floors got so gross. It's helped tons.
