Bloody Show or Spotting from Cervical Exam?

I’m so confused! This is my third pregnancy, so you’d think I’d know BUT I’m curious. I started losing bits of my mucus plug yesterday. Was checked at my doctor appointment yesterday morning and am still 4 cm dilated. I had a little spotting after the appointment. This morning I’ve lost more of my mucus plug and there’s blood in it. Some is brown, but some is pink/red. I’m wondering how long after a cervical exam do you usually have spotting (I never usually spot)?
