If the kids don’t go back to school...

Does your state have any plans to assist parents who will have to quit work to be home with younger children who are going to be doing “distance learning”? I live in Northern Virginia, where it’s pretty certain that we will not return to a “normal” school schedule for quite some time. My husband and I both work, and my job will not allow

me to continue working from home, even if the kids don’t return to school. (Even though I’ve been successfully working from home for months now because of the pandemic😑) So I’m just terrified that I’m going to be let go, or have to quit when the school year starts. No, it’s not the states job to take care of me or my kids. And thankfully I’ve never been in a position where I needed state assistance...But I cannot be the only one in this situation! What are working parents of younger school aged children going to do?? Certainly this will kill the economy. I’m desperately searching for work from home positions-but so is everyone else, so pickings are slim. I’m hoping they will extend unemployment benefits to those of us in the situation? Idk. I’m just terrified of not being able to provide. *ugh*
