How to know if complete miscarriage?

I have been bleeding for a week but today its only almost spotting. When I had a scan last friday, the result is incomplete and I still have remaining tissues left. How will i know that I have expel everything prior to my scan next friday. I still have on and off cramping.

Unfortunately you won't. My body likes to hold onto things. When our 2nd son was born I passed retained products 7 weeks after his birth. No idea or signs that anything was left. When we had our 3rd loss it was at 14 weeks. I had a d&c. Ended up in the er a month later and confirmed retained products. Had a repeat d&c. 4 months after my original d&c it felt like I was in labor. Was given medicine and pain killers to help pass what they thought was a blood clot. It was calcified retained products left over from the original d&c. Besides that day and that pain I had no idea.
