Is being called skinny offensive?

I’ve been￼ petite my whole life. I weigh 110. kids and adults always tell me “you need to eat more” or “why are you so skinny”. They most likely don’t mean harm but I still don’t like being called “skinny”.
I feel like it’s kind of the same thing as saying to a bigger person “you gain some weight” or whatever

Big believer you should never comment on a person's weight regardless of how they appear. I feel like weight/appearance is a huge trigger to so many people. Telling a thinner person that they're thin can be interpreted just as hurtful as calling a bigger person thick. I feel like saying things like "wow. You look so skinny" or "ooh you're looking thicc" is just never a good idea. If you want to give someone a compliment you can simply let them know that they look nice/pretty/beautiful/hot/stunning. Compliment them without making them feel some type of way because labels like "thin, fat, skinny, thick, etc." those really stay in people's minds

I am skinny but tend to be insecure sometimes. When I would go to my friends about it (who are bigger) they would get so mad at me because “I’m too pretty to be insecure” and that always hurt me. Just because I’m skinny doesn’t mean I’m confident at all times

You can find it offensive- that’s your choice. I too am 110 pounds and get those same comments 24/7. It can get annoying especially if you are trying to get more fit or  to a higher weight for any reason. I usually just let it roll off. No one is trying to be mean by it, they often just don’t know better or can’t imagine someone being that small and still healthy. My bfs dad tells me “to eat a cheeseburger or two” every time I see him. It got annoying after the 10th time but I realized it’s because he used to larger women and sees that as the healthy norm. So to answer your question, is it offensive? To me, no it’s not because make the choice to get offended at something. But I definitely had asked people to not make certain comments about my body if it makes me uncomfortable. If it “offends” you is up to you, but you always have the freedom to stand up for yourself and politely correct someone, regardless if you are offended or not.
