Flange too big???

Question

Okay, so. To my surprise people can hold their flanges with their arms while being able to text and not pay much attention to the pump. Me on the other hand- I have to use my hand to keep it pushed on otherwise I lose suction and it blows air out the back.. or milk if it puddles. I don’t feel like it’s THAT roomy between nipple and tunnel, but should I try a smaller size? Should it be able to hold at least a little bit of its own suction?

Sounds like it maybe a little big, but it also isn’t going to hold its own suction. It won’t hurt to try a smaller size, just be sure to stop pumping if it’s uncomfortable. 
If the next size down is too small, you could look at using your current size but just with a cushion, it’ll decrease the flange size slightly - approx 2mm - and be in-between the two sizes.
