One year old is refusing to eat
My son will be 13 months old in a few days. We stared doing baby led weaning when he was 6 months old and he’s always been a pretty good eater. He was eating 3 meals and 2 snacks a day and he ate whatever we ate. We transitioned him to whole milk the day after his first birthday and he was drinking about 24 oz a day.
About 5 days ago, he woke up and refused to eat anything all day long. As soon as I put food on his tray, he would shake his head no and throw it on the floor. He’s been like this ever since and just WILL NOT eat anything, not even his favorite foods. He’ll hardly even put anything in his mouth and he hasn’t been wanting his pacifier either. If I can get him to put food in his mouth, he immediately spits it out. He used to eat almost everything I gave him. I don’t know what’s going on with him ☹️
He’s still drinking water and milk just fine and he’s peeing and pooping like normal, he’s just refusing to eat. His pediatrician said to switch him back to formula until he starts eating again so we did that two days ago. I’m still offering food 3 times a day and snacks as well and I always offer him food before I’ll give him milk or formula. I’ve gotten him to eat some teddy grahams, veggie straws, and some baby food pouches but that’s about all he’ll eat.
He’s been drooling a lot over the last week so I think he might be teething too. But he doesn’t have a fever, he’s not fussy, and he’s acting like normal. I even tried giving him Tylenol in case his mouth was hurting and that’s why he wouldn’t eat, but he still refused any food.
I’m just wondering if anyone else has gone through anything like this with any of their babies? My husband said he’ll eat if he’s hungry but it’s been 5 days and I’m getting so worried about him! 😔
