Induction advice?

Getting induced in 4 hours! As of 2 days ago I wasn’t dilated and my cervix still high 😔 so I’m super nervous that the induction is going to be long and painful!
For those who have been induced, when did it get painful? After pitocin/contractions began? Also, any positive stories after going in not dilated at all?

I was 1/2 a cm, 50% effaced and my cervix was high when I was induced. It was really painful right away, especially since I wanted an epidural and mine didn’t work. The silver lining was it didn’t take long at all. The cervidil gave me contractions and caused my water to break, and I never needed to get pitocin (until after baby was out to stop my bleeding). My labor was 10 hours from when my water broke to when he was born.

Good luck! I’m due to be induced tomorrow. Been having contractions for 26 hours now & cervix is still high & not dilated. I’m in tears & want this over with now.

I was induced last Wednesday after being checked at 40+4, I was barely 1 cm and had an “unfavorable cervix”. 
They put in the cervidil and that’s all my body needed! It kick started labor so quickly that they had to take it out around 2 am. 
No need for pitocin and had baby girl at noon! 
I did end up getting an epidural at 6 am which was great. My husband and I got some naps in until it was time to push.

With my first induction it was painful as soon as they broke my water, which is what they did first then they gave me Pitocin. with my second “induction” I opted for the epidural first before anything and ended up not needed pitocin at all since I was already in labor🤷🏼‍♀️

For me it didn’t get painful until my water was broken. My only advice is to walk around/ bounce on a birthing ball as much as you can before getting an epidural
