Membrane sweep?

Question

Has anyone had a membrane sweep? I’m having one of Monday. The idea creeps me out lol. 
If you had it....
1) did it work? If so how long after.
2) did it hurt?
3) did you bleed?
I know this is nothing compared to child birth I’m just a big baby when it comes to my girlie part lol.

Just had one on Thursday at my 37 week appointment! It's uncomfortable, but nothing crazy. Just breathe and relax the best you can for a better result. My NP said if it worked I'll go into labor within 72 hours. I've lost larger pieces of my mucus plug since, some blood tinged. I've had some contractions since but nothing serious. I didn't bleed after this sweep. I had two while pregnant with my son and bled after those, but neither made me go into labor.

I had it with my son and the answers are yes, yes and yes. I had it at 39+5 and he was born exactly 48 hours later after a 12 hour labour. I started cramping straight after it and bled slightly, lost bloody mucus plug about 2 hours after the sweep. I found it quite painful but my doctor was very rough and made everything hurt (including just feeling my bump). I went on a 3 mile walk straight after it and walked/exercised through the cramps which apparently helps it work. My cramps lasted from the sweep until I was in labour when they turned into contractions.

I haven’t had one but my SIL did, she said it’s uncomfortable and she had her baby the next day. I asked my friend who just had one what it was like, she said it’s uncomfortable and she had her baby 3 days after. Good luck to you!!!

I had mine done yesterday. I don’t think it hurt. I haven’t had any bleeding or cramping since so I’m not sure it worked :(

1. Technically yes I think it worked. I had it done at 39w3d at 2pm. I was 3cm and 80%. Lost my plug at 39w4d at 8pm. Went into labor at 39w6d at 3:45pm. Delivered at 40w at 1pm. 
2. It is very uncomfortable  but it’s not unbearable. It’s a quick like 1-2 mins and done. 
3. I started cramping and spotting just a bit after that lasted for a couple hours. 
Idk if this helps at all but I will probably do it again with this baby if I make it to 40 weeks. It’s not so uncomfortable that is never do it again.

Yes it worked for me (sweep at 2:30pm, baby born next day at noon.
It’s slightly uncomfortable but really not too bad.
I still go back and forth over whether I should have done it.  On one hand, I wish I didn’t do it and let baby come when she was ready on her own.  She was OP, chin tilted up which made for 3-1/2 hours of pushing them vacuum assist.  Maybe waiting would’ve given her a chance to position differently? But on the other hand if her position would’ve been the same then a smaller baby would be better and I’m glad I got the sweep.

I had two, the pain is kinda like someone going in dead fast without lube, but not and at all.
First one helped me dilate 1 cm from 37-38 weeks, second one got me dilating for sure but I’m about to go in to be induced so I can let you know how far it got me in 3 days at 38+2. Had loads of Braxton Hicks and cramps all day after the sweep, no bleeding

Just had mine done today! It honestly didn’t hurt as I thought it would. I just took a deep breath and blowed our as she did it and just felt like pressure to me. Wondering if it’ll work 😅😅
