Semen analysis at GP?

Hi, has anyone’s partner had a test done in the UK? I’m curious how it works. On the NHS site it says he can get a test after we’ve been trying for a year. I’m 34, we’ve been trying 4 months, I don’t want to wait that long to get him checked out. Can we just ask our GP for a test?

You can always go privately, you will often be able to get this done for under £100 in most places if you want the peace of mind 
I did this and the clinic I went to actually offered a couple fertility “MOT” for £150... including a sperm analysis, blood test for AMH levels, ultrasound and a consultation 
It’s not always as expensive as you think, happy to give more info if you have questions ☺️✨

Personally I would say I have been TTC for a year because otherwise you will be waiting longer. Or you could go private.
