Hypothyroidism/Menstrual Cycle? Help!

Crystal

Hey ladies! This might be long and I’ll try to explain it as simply as I can!

I’ve had hypothyroidism for about 7 years now. I take 125mcg of levothyroxine and have been steady with that dose for about 4 years now.

I have also been on birth control pills for 8-9 years. I had the implant for 3 of those years but reverted back to the pill because the implant did not work for me.

Okay so my periods have always been regular (of course because of the birth control, but I have been on birth control since I was 17) SO I guess I’ve never tracked my cycle when I WASN’T on some form of birth control so everything seemed fine!

Well I stopped taking the pill in January. It’s been about 6 months.

-I got my period in February as normal.

-I completely missed my period in March.

-I got my period in April but it was LIGHT and only 3 days long.

**now I haven’t gotten my period since April (so 2 months without a period)

My question is my body STILL adjusting to being off the pill??

Or could the Levothyroxine meds be causing my cycle to be irregular and I’m just now noticing it because I’m off of birth control?

Or could there possibly be permanent damage due to being on birth control for so long??

Please if anyone has experienced this let me know. I know I need to make a doctors appointment but I am in the military and the hospital here is limited to only emergencies because of COVID. I don’t know if there’s some sort of vitamins I could possibly take to help get me regular? I’m just so lost right now. It’s really hard to try for our first baby when my body is not cooperating 😭😭
