My son is 10 weeks old and we have been doing a combination of pumping and direct nursing since he was a couple weeks old. He didn’t take to the slow flow tommee tippee nipple well, so we dropped down to the extra slow flow and have been doing fine with that ever since.

Now, he’s falling asleep through most of his bottles (though he finishes them - he just keeps drinking with his eyes closed). I’ve read that this can be a sign that he needs to move up to the next flow nipple, which would be the one that the bottles came with originally. I’m worried that moving up to a faster flow nipple might make him frustrated at the breast, if he has to work harder for the milk.

Any advice? Should I keep using the extra slow flow or move up to the slow flow?
