Why are my fingernails dark?

I promise you they are cleaned! They still look like they are dirty and something is underneath! I don't wear nail polishes of dark colors. I usually apply a clear nail polish or nude nail polish.
On the pic I don't wear nail polish at all
I don't smoke BTW!
I would like to remain anonymous because I'm embarrassed about this I feel like I'm dirty...

Are they growing in like that or is it just the tip? If it's just the tip they're probably stained with something that you used. If they're growing in like that it could be a fungus. If they are growing in I would suggest you contact your primary doctor.

Could be so many things. Have you dyed your hair or used self tanner lately? Might be something like that.
