Well, I am thinking about adopting a kitten and it would be my first cat ever!

We live in a rental flat, which means I need to get the owner’s permission first!

The flat has fitted carpet and it has been changed recently.

I wanted to ask does kittens and later cats ruin the carpet (either from scratching or anything else)???

Does it also happen if they have a scratching post and toys and everything???

Generally how much damage they can cause??
