Cloth diapers?

Hubby and I have decided Im gonna be a stay at home mom for quite a while with everything going on and now expecting in nov. So I’m curious is cloth diapers are something willing to try since I’ll be home more and able to somewhat keep up with laundry lol. Any mamas use or have used them previously?

I love cloth diapering. I just make sure you have enough for 2-3 days of laundry. Thats about 24 to 36 diapers. I got the budget brands of Kawaii and Alva Baby. Its a learning curve but well worth it.

We use them but we were gifted a years worth of cloth diapering service so I haven't had to get a big routine down. It's definitely saved us a lot of money and they're really cute!  I  use Alva Baby diapers as covers and I use a snappy to fasten a prefold on our son. A lot of people like to stuff their diapers but then you can only use the cover once. I prefer changing the prefold and changing the cover as necessary. We did start using disposables at bedtime when our son started sleeping longer periods of time so he wouldn't get yeast infections from moisture.
I would recommend the All About Cloth Diapers group on Facebook and I think they have a website with general information and laundering recommendations.

I used cloth for my first daughter until a couple months before age 3 when we potty trained and now for her little sister. I love them and am very used to the process, laundry, etc.. Youtube helped me understand the differences and feel less overwhelmed. 
For me the pros are that they are cost effective especially if used for more than one child, environmentally friendly, great for baby in terms of rashes and avoiding chemicals. Sure they can be a little bulky and a bit more work but the benefits outweigh those factors for me. I also find stuffing my clean pocket diapers a little relaxing, haha. 
For the newborn stage I didn't have too many at first so I did a combination of disposable and cloth. I liked newborn specific all in ones (just like a regular diaper but cloth). They are a little pricier but fit a tiny baby better. I had about  20 since newborns need very frequent changing and used disposable as not to invest too much because they dont stay in them for long. I washed every day at that point too. My favorites from about 2-3 months until potty training are pocket diapers with inserts. As another mom mentioned 24-36 is a good minimum to start so you can wash every 2-3 days. 
I registered for a smaller number of all in ones, pockets with inserts, and prefolds with covers (they have benefits too). Ithought I would like the prefokds with covers best because they are most economical but ended up being gifted many pocket diapers with inserts and love them to wick moisture away from baby and because most last from a couple months on.
The diaper sprayer is easy to attach to the toilet and convenient when baby starts solids. I just used garbage cans with a lid and large wet bag liner to place dirty diapers. With baby number 2 I also use more cloth wipes since I'm washing anyway. 
You can always start out small and see how you like it and acquire more if you do.

I recommend YouTube for videos on how to and stuff. I watched tons and decided against it. To much work. I put one on my daughter and her clothes didn’t buckle on bottom. So it’s as if I’d have to up the size for stuff. No thanks. Plus specific detergent and apparently certain cycles too.

Honestly, I started off with them but later just bought diapers. They are great for spit up/throw up etc.

Yikes. I wouldn’t do that. I’m lazy and they’re hard work. Sure, disposable diapers are expensive, but so is special detergent and doing laundry all the time. Not to mention all the water that goes into it. 
Some people love them and some people, not so much. I’d recommend doing lots of research.

I used them for my first baby until she started eating foods. Not that hard, but is a bit more work if you have more than one kid. Way cheaper

Some people love them but for me it was way too much on my plate being a new mom recovering from c section plus the  normal cleaning and cooking and just adding in having to wash three diapers was too much.
