How do you make your manicure last longer?

So last night I spent a significant amount of time giving myself a french mani, only for it to chip when I washed the dishes. Is there any way I can help prevent that?? I use a base coat, and a top coat when I do my nails. And I let them dry completely before doing things, but no matter what I do, my nails chip within a day of painting them..it's very irksome..

Any tips? 😊

Not moving a muscle. Otherwise it's gone. I've screwed my nails IN THE salon on many occasions.

I do shellac manicures and they last for 2-3 weeks.

The only way my nails don't chip if I get gel. Otherwise, I have the same problem 😞

Nail polish takes a full 24 hours to truly set. It may feel dry sooner but the actual polish doesn't bind till 24 hr later. So stay away from water for the full day after doing them. May help. Also look into the no chip gel manicures?

So I use this stuff that's also a nail hardener. But it goes on super thick. I'll go for a manicure, and like 2 days after I do it, I'll paint a coat of that on there and my manicures usually last around 2-3 weeks. Towards the end they look pretty bad, but I've noticed it lasts longer. You can also use it as a base coat and it makes your nails super hard.

I think it's called quimica. It's from colombia. You can get it on amazon.
