And other times it doesnt? This is all with the same sex partner, but how come sometimes I enjoy it and other times it leaves my ass bleeding?

Amount of lube, roughness of the sex, how relaxed you were, sometimes a hard poop can cause little cuts or abrasions that get irritated further with sex.  There’s lots of reasons.  If it’s painful, stop.  If you bleed for more than just a moment, see a doctor.

Also, during your period your pain receptors are more sensitive so if youre doing anal then (or right before or immediately after it), you could be feeling it more thsn other times in the middle of your cycle.

you may be too tense or not have enough lubrication and not even realize it until post-sex!! 
sometimes i don’t realize until after and i’m like, “wow, we could’ve used more lube, huh?” or, “wow, i was a little bit too clenchy”

bleeding after anal sex is actually very common, though! if it’s not causing you a ton of pain/discomfort/developing hemorrhoids you should be fine. your partner being rough with you or having anal sex after a while of not having it can cause strain in those muscles and bleeding can be absolutely normal and nothing to worry about
