Nighttime potty training?

Do you have to convert to a toddler bed to potty train for night? Or can they stay in a crib?

With my son he wore a pull up to bed until he was consistently waking up dry every morning, about a month, then we switched to underwear. My son doesn’t get up to go to the potty at night, but he is in a toddler bed because he started to climb out before we potty trained. Lol we limit fluids before bed (about an hour before) and make sure he pees right before bed. That has worked for us and hes never woken up wet. I’ll also add that my son used to wake up with really soaked diapers before he was potty trained, I think it’s a developmental thing to learn how to hold their pee longer. Hope this helps!

My daughter gets up and takes herself. She is in a twin sized bed. And she wears a pull-up. We just potty trained 4 months ago. I would suggest converting to a bigger bed

Do you still have the bars like all the way up on the crib? If you’re trying to get your LO to use the toilet overnight, then I would make it as easy as possible meaning nothing that they have to climb over.
