Is taking Prenatals while NOT pregnant bad ?

We have been TTC for a while now without any luck. And I’ve been taking Prenatals for a good while to prepare my body with the nutrients. Well is that bad for taking it for over a year and not pregnant ? May be a silly question but I just thought of it

If you're not trying to get pregnant, then according to the Mayo Clinic, you should just take a multivitamin. There are harmful effects from some of the supplements if taken too much if you have no plan of becoming pregnant.

No it's not bad. When I asked my doctor about which multivitamin to take she asked me if we eventually wanted kids and I said yes. She told me to go ahead and take a prenatal vitamin so I was already on it when I got pregnant plus it has a lot in it good for mom :)

Prenatals are not bad to take if not pregnant. 
Prenatals do not increase nor decrease your chances of pregnancy.
All Prenatals do is give you the vitamins and supplements necessary to maintain a healthy pregnancy when/if you get pregnant. That’s all.

No, it's not bad. I remember taking them as a teenager even to help with my hair and nails and just general nutrients overall.
