How to use Evening primrose capsules for labor?

A naturopathic doctor suggested i use borage oil and evening primrose from 33 weeks pregnant till I go into labor but she didn’t specify how to use them and how often.. if anyone has any tips I’d really appreciate it!

Answer

With my first I started using EPO 1 orally and 1 vaginally at 35 weeks. I eventually took 2 vaginally and still the 1 orally, after 38 weeks. Occasionally, I’d try a perineal massage on myself with the oil once the capsule dissolved.  I don’t think I noticed anything for my body, and it didn’t speed up or help labor in my case. BUT my almost 9 lb baby girl only gave me a 1st degree tear, so I’d call it a win!
