Prolapse — how did you find out?

When I take a mirror and look at my vagina I see new flesh inside that wasn’t there pre-baby. I’m scared this means I have some kind of prolapse. When I had my 6 week check up with the OB she didn’t say anything, and I hadn’t looked with a mirror yet so I didn’t know to ask her about it.
How did you find out you had a prolapse? I’m so scared to try having sex...

If you can, go see a pelvic floor physio therapist. OBGYNs often miss prolapses because they are not easily seen when laying flat on your back and legs in stirrups. You can better see them when you are sitting up, bearing down and standing up because gravity plays a big roll in things. There are tons of pelvic floor exercises (besides just kegels) that you can do to improve things. I felt like I had a rectocele and cystocele after birthing my son (a pushed incorrectly for 2 hours and needed vacuum assistance) and saw a pelvic floor physio therapist for 3 months (she said it was too mild to grade but it REALLY bothered me mentally so I continued to see her for my own peace of mind) and by 10 months pp I could no longer feel or see anything different.

With a prolapse your uterus is bulging out into your vagina and sometimes even pushes outside of your vagina. I would imagine you would feel a fullness. It is quite obvious when you look into the vagina. It's smooth, round and bubble gum pink and looks like a small, bald baby's head coming out.

Omg glad I seen this post !! I was looking down there to check my stitches and I’m like uhhh... why does it look different .. like you said it’s different tissue that wasn’t there or my hole got bigger ? Idk tmi but I was concerned . I told myself that it’s gonna take some time to go back to how it was but still is concerning . Lol

I have the same thing and mine said it was my hymen

I had a prolapse after baby three and it went away by doing this particular exercise. The physio told me to use a pencil and clench to strengthen the pelvic floor. Did that everyday twice a day for a few months and it went away. I've had two more babies and no prolapse again. Goodluck
