Anyone and their child’s father have blue eyes and their baby’s come out brown?

My 3 day old son looks like he has brown eyes but mine and his dads are blue 😳

It’s not common, but it’s totally possible. It’s dependent on 2 different genes that need each other to work. So if you had one and your husband had the other then you can pass both along and the baby would have 2 working copies and have brown eyes. Whereas you and your husband probably only have 1 working copy of one gene so that’s why you have blue. (Just as a cliffnotes version) genetics is super interesting

It can take up to one year till baby got his eye color.
I had blue eyes till 9 months old , then they changed to brown.
My baby girl 1 year old has blue eyes as her father and my baby boy 2 months old has a green eyes color.... 🤷

Blue is a recessive gene which means it's not always the one that shows up. Also just because you both have blue eyes it doesn't mean blue is the only gene you had to contribute. My kiddo has super blue eyes and my husband has brown/green/yellow (hazel) and I have blue, genetics are wild. Honestly blood type would tell you more than eye color if you are concerned about anything.... Odd.

He’s probably too young to determine that he has brown eyes right now. But it’s possible, if both of you carry a gene for it. 
It was opposite for my grandparents though. They both have super dark eyes and my mom has blue eyes. I have blue eyes and my bf has hazel eyes. Our daughter has gray eyes. Curious to see what color our second has.
