Fluid at the Back of Neck?

Hi ladies, I’m in need of some opinions and reassurance. I had a simple ultrasound done at 12 weeks on Monday, it wasn’t meant to check on the baby or to preform the NT SCAN but just to make sure my cysts weren’t growing. I believe the ultrasound gave me some pictures of the baby to be nice and I was grateful. I chose to do the NIPT test instead and it said my results should be back by July 15. Anyways, after my ultrasound the doctor came in and said everything looked good and so did baby. I left the appointment and when looking more closely at the ultrasound I noticed a lot of fluid behind the baby’s neck. I compared it to the abnormal ultrasound picture online and also to my son’s ultrasound when he was 12 weeks. I know with the NT SCAN it’s more in depth and there’s precise angles the tech uses. So am I just freaking myself out for nothing? I’ll post the picture below. Thank you 💓

It’s normal. In your picture it isn’t showing the tissue of the neck but is picking up on a membrane called the amnion. I am an ultrasound tech and am certified in nuchal translucency.

If the techs and doctors reviewed everything and said everything looks healthy, it probably is. Call your doctor or ask at your next appointment if you are worried, but it could just be a funny angle.

I think it’s normal, there is bit of a dip t the neck which looks normal. With my second pregnancy I did 12 week scan and nipt and ultrasound tech did say, this is not an NT scan, but from what I  seeing it all looks normal, and I was. If there was an issue they would ask for more tests etc.

I think it looks normal, you can see the curve still in the neck! If your doctor says everything is fine I’m sure you have nothing to worry about :)

I just had my NT scan this afternoon and the doctor spent about 40 min to find the perfect angle to take the measurement. He said up to 4mm is normal. It was 0.6mm, but also looked like more to me since it was so zoomed in. I agree with everyone else they would have said something if they saw anything was wrong.
