Positive 37 week induction

My July 31st baby became a July 10th baby!! I was induced at 37 weeks due to IUGR/SGA (11th percentile as of last growth scan) and my last ultrasound showed elevated umbilical artery dopplers (my placenta was working overdrive)

We got to the hospital 7/9 at 11:30pm. Got a room around 12:30 and started on pitocin at 1:30ish! I was already 3cm dilated to start with. By 5:30 I was only 4cm dilated and my water didn’t break so they broke it for me. After that my contractions got so much worse!!! It was so painful but I wanted to try to wait on getting an epidural because I didn’t know if my labor would be super long and I didn’t want to be confined to my bed if I was gonna be in labor another like 20 hours. Well that went out the window after about an hour and a half 😂 I got the epidural at 7:15 and I was actually able to nap for an hour after that!!

I woke up at 8:30 and felt pain again on my right side. I let the nurse know and she got a peanut ball for me and told me to lay on my side with the peanut ball between my legs to help the epidural move more to my right (apparently gravity helps the epidural work better). Well that position was quite painful but I was trying to just deal with it until the nurse brought the anesthesiologists back to check the epidural. That went out the window at 9:15 when I had a contraction and felt this HUGE pressure and need to push!! I had my fiancé call the nurse back in right away and they checked my cervix and I was fully dilated!!! The nurse started getting everything ready and the doctor came to the room and the whole time I just wanted to start pushing already it was so much pressure 😱 at 9:31 they had me start to push and my baby was here at 9:46am on 7/10/20!

There were times while pushing that I felt like I couldn’t do it anymore but I kept going for my baby boy. I knew all the pain would be worth it when I heard his cry and I was right. He’s so perfect 🥺. But ladies let me tell ya they don’t call those last few pushes the “ring of Fire” for no reason lol!!! So incredibly painful. Anyway here’s a pic of my little man who will be 3 days old tomorrow!! He was 5lbs 12oz and 19inches 🥰
