Breast pump noises?

I'm an exclusive pumper, which is bittersweet for me, but for some reason every time I get my LO down for a nap and start pumping she wakes up 5 min into my pump session. My current pump is a Medela Pump In-Style Advanced. It does make a weird ringing/squeaking noise in the pump mechanism that I can't get to go away and neither can my husband (who is extremely mechanically inclined and talented). I'm contacting customer service, but not holding out much hope.
Is there a quieter pump out there? Or any ideas on how to get the ringing noise to go away or be better muffled?

My baby would be asleep upstairs with a closed door and sound machine and my quiet manual pump still would often wake her. I think they smell the milk being expressed!!

I had the same pump with the same noise you are describing. I threw a blanket over it while I was pumping to muffle the noise. My kid didn't wake up from it, but when I was at work and answering phone calls, I got sick of people asking "what the hell is that noise" lol.

I don’t know how to stop the noise, sorry. But my Lansinoh pump sounded more like a rhythmic basketball dribbling and my daughter would sync her breathing to it or bob her head to it. It was the cutest thing ever. Good luck on your EP journey, I pumped for the last time yesterday after 7+ months and I have a freezer stash to get my daughter to a year.
