Is this a BFP or is the test defective? I’m a week late for my period and haven’t had an appetite, I’m slightly nauseous on and off. My boobs are on fire so I thought sure just take a test. My husband and I have been trying for a year for our first, so I feel like this isn’t real life. Has anyone’s test came out like this ?! Does it mean something if the test line is way darker than the control ?

Yes. Test line is taking dye from control line.

Ypu have yourself a dye stealer! You have that much hcg that its stole dye from the control line

That’s what we call a “dye stealer”. You have so much HCG in your urine that the test needed all the dye to color the test line and none was left for the control line. 
Call your dr and schedule your blood test and appointment your clearly pregnant!
