My son’s 2nd birthday is October 3rd, and I’ve already started planning his birthday party. I know it’s early, but I started planning his first birthday when he was like 3 months old, so I’m getting better.

His birthday this year is going to be Little Blue Truck themed. If you’re not familiar with the book, there are a bunch of farm animals in it. So I thought it would be such a great idea to get a petting zoo for the day. There’s one near us that will charge $325. It’s for about an hour and a half, and there will be 15ish animals there. We decided that if we get the petting zoo, it will take the place of his birthday present from us.

On the one hand, he’s only 2, and he won’t remember it. So maybe we shouldn’t spend the money on it.

On the other hand, we’ll have pictures of it and we can tell him all about it when he gets older. Plus I have a bunch of nieces and nephews who are older and will really enjoy it.

I don’t know. Does it seem like maybe it’s too much?
