I’m 16, a senior now and I want to ask my mom if I can go on birth control. One reason is I feel like I’m old enough and I want to get an understanding and feel the responsibility of that part of womanhood. Another reason, is I want to be protect myself just in case I decide to I want to have sex, of course it will be protective only. Also, I feel like when I go to college if anything were to happen to me I could be protected in that aspect as well.

Any advice on how to approach her? She’s young she had me at 21 and has never made me feel unwanted or unloved. However, she’s protective and so is my dad😪 I know they will love me in the end but some guidance would be nice.
