Thought it was PCOS

Caitlin • I`m a married 30 y/o high school digital integration specialist. My husband and I welcomed our rainbow baby into the world 1/2017 and are excited to prepare to expand our family in the next few months.
I had my first pregnancy end in a miscarriage at 6 weeks last Friday and went to the ER to make sure that's what was happening. They did a traditional ultrasound and a transvaginal ultrasound and didn't find a heartbeat.
My doctor put me on Metformin a couple years ago because of irregular periods and steady weight gain and it didn't seem to help a ton with regulating my periods. Or weight loss for that matter. But because I was on the Metformin I always just assumed I had PCOS
I went in for a follow up appointment with my doctor and she said the only concern seen on the ultrasound was some swelling in an ovary. She said sounds like it was just swelling from the egg being released out of that ovary and nothing to be too worried about. I go in for another ultrasound after my first period after the ultrasound to follow up.
If there were any abnormalities, would the radiologist have mentioned that on the report? I would assume yes but I just hope if there were any issues, that they are caught sooner rather than later before I get pregnant again.
