Should essential employees get extra money?

Absolutely. I would be making more if I was laid off and on unemployment than I do as a cna.  Essential employees deserve more because they are putting themselves at risk with limited PPE.

Yes, for all the reasons everyone else has mentioned. We also deserve more money for all the stupid, entitled fuckheads we have to deal with every day, whining about wearing masks, and long lines, and out of stock items, and busy kitchens, and pared down menus, and all the other stuff we have no fucking control of. There are some world class douchecanoes running around lately, and I think we deserve a premium for dealing with their dumb asses. 😂😂😂

Yes!! I work in the medical field i am exposed to covid and i am not paid any extra then my normal pay, but people sitting at home safe are making more then i do on a normal week. Its not right.

Yes! My husband is essential. He's been working the entire time. He's a reefer tech and diesel mechanic. We keep seeing all these posts and news articles that say "thank you trucks for your hard work" well guess what, if it wasn't for my husband and his friends he works with, those truckers would be getting the food etc to the locations because my husband keeps that truck running, he keeps them up to code, he keeps the the reefer units running to keep the food and other items cold. He hasn't got a thanks from anyone at all.

Unemployed get 600$ more because of this. I didn't even get a stimulus check bc my parents claimed me as dependent. But if I was what? 5 years younger they would get money? So dumb. And I got covid from work! I work in a nursing home and caught it before they realized there was a huge out break 🙄

Absolutely. I’ve worked my ass off while watching people sit on their ass and do nothing while they make 2x more than me. Then half of them come into my place of work and treat us like crap all day every day. We haven’t gotten anything that says hey. We appreciate you Nd the fact that you have been here every day through one of the hardest times. Its like a big slap in the face.

Yes my workplace gave us bonuses for the first few months of the pandemic plus an extra discount and free meals. The bonuses have stopped but now our cases are higher than before the company just can’t afford to keep giving bonuses. I wish we were just paid more
