Clomid- days 3-7 or 5-9?

What's the difference between taking clomid cycle days 3-7 or 5-9? Seems like a preference but if you take it earlier would you ovulate earlier?

I take it 5-9. I think it's just your RE's preference. The one response said earlier for health of eggs, later for number....I typically only get 1 even though I take it later. But that theory would make sense because you are taking the stimulant after several follicles have started so gives them a boost to make t to the mature size I guess.

My last AF was October 12th and I took clomid days 3-5 and it ovulated a little sooner then I normaly do. I ovulated on the 21st.

I read something on the internet somewhere about one way is for the increased health of the egg, days 3-7 I think, and the other is for more eggs. Not sure if this is true or not. I've always ovulated about the normal time on Clomid and they tell me to take it days 3-7.
