Baby vomiting

My son is three weeks old. He started vomiting when he was about 10 days.?we took him to the ED. He got an X-ray and everything was fine. Doc put him on similac alimentum but he still vomits once in a while. Some days he doesn't vomit at all but some days he just can't stop. I tried using smaller nipples but still no improvement. We saw another peds doc and she is not worried since he is gaining weight. I just don't know whether it is really normal for baby to vomit like that. Not really projectile but a large volume like 1 -2 oz. he only took 2 oz each time every 2-3 hrs. It is just driving me nuts seeing him throw up and cry. Anyone have the same experience? Any advice?
