Solids at 4 months??? WHATTT?

Sooo apparently I’ve been under a rock! When did starting infants on solids change from 6 months to 4 months ??!!

My daughter is 3 and it was definitely six months then but my son was given the okay at 4 month. We started him last night at 5 1/2 months.

It really depends. My pediatrician recommended 6 for my baby. I’ve had 6 kids and I’ve started all of them around 6 months. They’re fine if you wait till 6.

My son’s pediatrician recommended start solids at 6 months, even though a lot of mamas start giving solids at 4, which is fine. But said it was a recommendation not a rule.

My daughter’s pediatrician told my husband that she can start eating meats like chicken when she’s five months 🤯 I asked a pediatrician I work with that I found it kind of odd that her DR said that. My coworker said that it’s a new trend to introduce food early to babies.

I think 4 months is actually the older recommendation and it’s usually 6.

For us it's been this way for years. At least five years because that was the case with my nieces.

My babies dr had her start at 4 months bc she was super constipated so I just gave her pears or prunes once a day. It did feel like she was still too little though
