Baby Health Checks

Aleta

I was just told on Friday that I will have “Baby Health Checks” twice a week starting in mid-August. This is because of my high risk pregnancy and gestational diabetes, which puts me at an increased risk of stillbirth. Basically I have to go to appointments twice a week and they do “tests” (monitor baby’s heart, ultrasounds, etc) and if baby fails any of those tests I’ll be admitted to the hospital for more observation and possibly induced if they’re worried about baby. While I’m grateful to have a proactive doctor (apparently this program has a 99% success rate) I’m also stressed out. So far our sweet baby is healthy and doing really well, but the unknown just stresses me out. On the other hand, I’m relieved that I’ll get to see and check on our baby more often. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Is it possible to be stressed and relieved at the same time? This pregnancy has been wild and I’m just ready for October! Included a picture of my sweet 3-year old waiting for his baby sister to kick because he’s cute 😂
