What time?

Did you end up going to the hospital? Did you sleep at all before going? I’m worried my water is going to break right before bed and I won’t have any rest

Oh god. Not enough rest will be the least of your worries!
Also, not very many labours start with waters breaking

All my babies I went Into labour / my water breaks around dinner.. it’s lovely.. gotta love being in labour for 24 hours, giving birth then having a newborn to care for on literally no sleep for the past 2 days. All three. Same story. The stinkers lol.

I’ve had seven babies and EVERY SINGLE TIME, I have not slept the night before and then go into labor that evening, then labor from 14-21 hours! It IS exhausting but I’ve survived 😂

With my first my water broke right before midnight and I hadn’t gone to sleep yet. Once checked into the hospital they told me to rest (although I guess my OB had wanted me to start walking, but this wasn’t told to me). Was definitely exhausted a bit later and was thankful for my epidural letting me get strength. I don’t remember being exhausted as much during delivery but after I remember holding my baby and telling my husband he had to take her right then because I was afraid I was going to drop her I was so tired

Contractions started fast around 11:30am, by 2:00pm I couldn’t handle it and went to the hospital. Fully dilated at 8:00pm.

My water broke just before 9am with my first and I had a great sleep (as great as you can being almost 40 weeks pregnant) I didn’t contract all day so was started on Pitocin at 9pm that same night then delivered her the following morning at 4:49am.

Left the house at 6:15am with both, after being awake since 3:30am. And being that I make poor decisions regularly I went to sleep after midnight so I had like 3 hours of sleep before. I have quick labors so it wasn’t a big deal for me, and afterward I was so excited about baby that I didn’t sleep until the night time (again bad decision since baby wakes up every couple hours lol).

I had my water break at 7am with my third. I was just as tired after her birth as I was with my first who I labored hard starting at 8pm so no sleep prior to delivery. You will have so many hormones flushing through you sleep is the last thing on your mind.

I was so sleep deprived after giving birth that I literally could not see straight 🤪 labor is exhausting, whether you’ve had a full nights sleep or not! If you choose to get the epidural, the nurses will encourage you to sleep then. You’ll be comfortable and you’ll definitely need it! Good luck!

Every birth is different. You can’t control when you’ll sleep or how fast you’ll dilate. Have someone with you for support or use the nursery if you get too exhausted.
