Do contractions make you poop/have gas?

Question

I’ve been having mild period cramps on and off all day, and then some pretty painful contractions in between. (Still irregular) 
But everytime I have a contraction I’m either passing gas or having to run to the bathroom to pass loose stool? 
Obviously I’m not in active labor, but i think I might be in early labor. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I had the exact same thing last night like in between my BH I had to go use the bathroom. Happened a good 3x but then eventually I fell asleep and haven’t had anything else today. I’m thinking it’s our bodies preparing for babies to come soon. I’m currently 37weeks 3days.

When i was in the beginning stages of labor (i had contractions throughout the day, but they weren't close enough together. So irregular) at night I had really bad diarrhea. After that the contractions got closer together and I went to the hospital at 4am, gave birth at 8:28pm. I didnt gas or have to run to the bathroom each time tho, it was only that one time. But each pregnancy is different. I believe i had my bloody show the day before thise contractions/diarrhea as well. Docs had to break my water.
