When did you know you were ready for baby #2?

My son is currently 13 months old and my husband and I have been talking about TTC #2. We always hoped to have our children 2 years apart, but I really don’t know if I am ready to start trying. Some days I feel like I’m ready and other days I worry about if I’m ready for 2. How did you know you were ready for another baby? How was the tranosition from 1 to 2?

I knew I needed my first to be somewhat helpful before I would be ready for a second. When she started to be able to let the dogs out and pick a snack from a couple options we left on the counter, we felt ready to try again. My kids are 3.5 years apart and it’s been great. My daughter is 90% of the time great with him, sometimes she’s a little rough and needs a reminder that he is little. She also helps fill up my water cup when I’m nursing and likes being helpful.
I know I heard many times that going from 1 to 2 is the hardest transition and adding more is easy but I think that is bull. Going from 0 to 1 kid was WAY harder than 1 to 2 kids. This time has been infinitely easier - I know what to expect, I’m not stressed about whether baby is eating enough or if it’s too hot or too cold or do we have enough clothes, how many diapers do we need, etc etc. The hardest part has been the adjustments due to Covid-19!

I found 26m apart very hard but haven’t found 18m apart as hard so my answer is less then 18m part or more then 3 years apart.

We wanted ours close together. Mine turns 1 in a week and I'm 11 weeks pregnant. Theyll be 18 months apart which we are really excited about. We know it's going to be tough then first 6 months but so worth it after that. My daughter will be going to daycare so itll just be me and the baby during the day, not sure how ready I'd feel if I were a SAHM. Idk if you'll ever feel ready, we were excited and still panicking but itll all be worth it in the end.

My daughter is 15 months and I just know I want another one lol. I want them to be able to grow up with each other. 
I want to plan it so I give birth in the summer ( I'm a teacher so I won't have to use sick days for maternity leave) haha. 
My daughter will be 2 by then and a little more independent and wanting to help.

My second is 13 months old and I’m still not sure if I was ready for him 😂 The transition from 1-2 was incredibly difficult for me. Not the actual baby part, that was easy, but emotionally it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I felt a lot of guilt watching my first adjust and it was emotionally exhausting to figure out how to adjust myself to life with 2 and also deal with my first adjusting. They’re 2.5 years apart and I wish we’d waited so my first was more independent and wanted to be involved. My first is about to turn 4 and I think now would’ve been such an easier time for him to become a big brother and therefore I would’ve had an easier adjustment. I love my second but I will not being doing this age gap again.
