Hey mamas (and maybe dads too)!

My son just turned 11 months today and we have been battling an unknowing skin breakout in some pretty random areas: both arms at the shoulders, top of the head, base of the neck, and upper lip.

A little backstory: the first spot popped up on his right shoulder and looked similar to other eczema problem areas he’s had in the past. His former pediatrician prescribed some cortizone cream to use on flair ups so I began using it once to twice a day expecting it to clear up within a few days. It only got worse and soon another popped up on his left arm, though it was a smaller spot that the one on his right arm.

Flash forward to last Friday when I called his new ped office to see if they wanted to see him or just call in a prescription. She told me to continue the cortizone, but to coat it with aquaphor ointment to seal in the moisture.

After doing that for a week it still wasn’t improving so I called back and they wanted to do a telehealth appointment with a different doctor (we never see the same one every time 🙄) and he tried to look at it via video call (super ineffecting imo) and said to start a standard topical anti fungal cream twice a day. We started it Friday and now (Sunday) the rashes look horrible and he has the three new ones on his head, neck, and lip. I definitely don’t think it’s eczema anymore and I’m just so worried it’s some kind of infection or staph. I’m calling the pediatrician again in the morning but hoped some of you may be able to look and see what you think?

I posted this a few days ago in another forum so I will post those pictures along with the ones of how they look now. Pictures are best I could get with him being squirmy 😭
