Did you get on birth control? (PP)

if you so, which one are you on & what’s your pros or cons about it?

Birth control is the reason it took me so long to get pregnant. My mom put me in the pill when I was 12 and I stopped taking it (abruptly and without my doctors advice) when I was 16 because I wasn’t sexually active and didn’t plan to be. When I turned 21 is when I became sexually active so I got the Depo-Provera shot every three months for a year. I wasn’t trying to get pregnant however we didn’t care if I did so he wasn’t pulling out. We didn’t start actually trying until I was 22. It took 9 months.
Pros - You can “control” when your period is without any medical consequences with the pill. I would skip the sugar pill week and only get my period once a year or so. (There is no medical reason to have your period every month)
With the shot it was nice because I didn’t have to remember to take a pill every day.
Cons - 
Weight gain
Depression
Mood swings (BAD)
Not getting your period and if your like me the anxiety of not knowing if you’re pregnant or not sucks.
As for the IUD, I’ve never had it but I don’t know anyone who’s had a good experience with it. My sister in law had it embedded into her uterine wall resulting in a pregnancy (I do love my niece though). A friend of mine had the same thing happen but it ended up with a traumatic miscarriage and she is not longer able to have children. Another friend of mine it just straight up fell out. My sister in laws sister it caused her to be hospitalized for three weeks after it started sliding into her tubes. Just not for me. I don’t mean to scare you I just want you to know what can happen.
The bar in your arm I know one person that’s had it and after it healed from getting it put in it got infected and they had to take it out, wait for it to heal and redo it. She ended up getting pregnant with it anyways.
Really it’s what’s best for you. Talk to your doctor and really get a plan in place. As for me I plan to use the glow app to log everything and prevent pregnancy naturally. If I get pregnant, we want a second baby anyway. After baby number two we’ll be looking into a reversible vasectomy for my husband however they are known to heal themselves but we haven’t looked far enough into it. All we know is I will never be taking any sort of birth control ever again.

Nope! I made it very clear I was not getting on BC for the simple fact. It took me 3 years to conceive my little one because I got the depo shot and I can almost swear thats what effed my body up(inside and outside) I refuse to ever get BC again. I told hubby look BC makes my body feel so bad so that burden is on you now. You either wrap it or make sure the pull out game is strong because I'm not putting none of that junk in me ever again!

When I go to my 6 week checkup I’ll request to get another Mirena IUD. I’ve had it twice now and it’s what works for me. After a couple months my periods basically stop.

We needed ivf to conceive and the doctor told us we have about a 5% chance of conceiving on our own. I’m going to risk it until I get my period (breastfeeding and likely won’t get it for a few months to a year) so there will be one cycle that we could conceive. Then we might use condoms or nothing if it’s safe for me to get pregnant again. 
I don’t want to mess with my body again in case that had anything to do with our fertility challenges.

I have the implant I the arm that lasts 3 years. I got it after my son was born (3 years ago) and took it out to have my daughter. Now I just got it put back in at 6 weeks postpartum. Only cons I had was when I stopped breastfeeding my son at a year, the extra hormones from stopping made me kinda crazy for about a month and then they leveled out. I didn’t experience any spotting or having a period for over a year with it, but that was probably because I breastfed. I liked it and hope to have another good experience
