I think having that one person is really nice. It’s consistent familiarity with that one person who completely understands you. You share intimacy with just that one person. For me, I think I’m able to be a lot more comfortable when it’s just me and him. Any more than one, I’d be overwhelmed lol.

It’s probably the simplicity for me. Here I am with this person, growing together in intimacy, romance, communication and knowing each other, commitment, friendship and our life together and all the projects that come with it. I’m not saying this is impossible with poly relationships, but they can be complex in deciding boundaries, revisiting those boundaries, and considering other people’s feelings beyond just two people. And human feelings are so complex already so it just would seem to multiply! I like that only me and my SO decide for us and our relationship.

Knowing I'm that person's one and only, and vice versa. There's just something so special about being *the* main person (romantically, that is) in a person's life. What an honour.

It's easy. I don't have to worry about impressing anyone else or compete for attention.
I'm honestly convinced that I found my soulmate. I didn't even think that existed before I met this man. We are so similar in most ways but we are complimentary to each other in our differences too. I couldn't imagine having the same level of closeness if we added anyone else into the mix.
If I hadn't met him there is a good chance I might feel differently though.

Being done searching. 
After having spent so many years wondering when you meet new people (or even reconnecting with old friends) if there might be “something more there?”. Now we are married, that is shut off. No one else will be my husband, no more wondering if someone likes me too, or even if I’m with the right person. We made a covenant promise to love each other only. We will continue to work on that through thick and thin for as long as we both shall live and funnel that love into the family we are building. Done.
