Membrane sweep to help VBAC?

Question

I’m going for my second VBAC and my doctor mentioned that next week she will do a membrane sweep to help prep my cervix and increase my chances of going into labor naturally. They didn’t do this with my first vbac, but I switched practices so I was just wondering if anyone else has had their doctor suggest or do this? I’m a little hesitant to start at 37 weeks since I went into labor naturally with my first 2 just past 40 weeks

Never have I had one and all mi e were born after 40 weeks.. and I vbac. I’m careful as to what I allow for prepping body or induction because of the vbac factor. Since I can’t remember ever being offered one with my vbacs, I would have to research its effects on vbacs before I agreed to do one.

I personally don’t believe membrane sweeps help. I’ve seen membrane sweeps do nothing more than actually helping with labor. Lol If your body naturally goes into labor i would just wait.
