Baby girl was born 37+4!
Induced for high BP. I’m a FTM and the whole experience was crazy! She was out in 6 pushes and is 7.8oz 20 1/4 in long 💕
Edit: if anyone is interested in my birth story and induction lmk and I will share !
Update: i found out at my 37 week appointment we’d be inducing me in a couple days due to my blood pressure not going down. I went in on a Tuesday and I went in Friday 7/17 at 6pm to start cytotec. Saturday 7/18 we started pitocin at 7am. The epidural was honestly not that bad to me! I kept trying to be tough and hold out on it since I wasn’t even dilating fast but the nurse talked me into it and I wish I did it sooner. They numb you first with a local that feels like a bee sting and then they start to do the epidural once it kicks in and you feel the pressure of the tubing and then cold fluid go down your spine which was honestly weirdly satisfying to me lol! Then you feel what feels like cold water going under your whole back skin and it’s relief 🙌🏼 . Several hours and checks later and they broke my water at 7:45pm at 3cm dilated. I got my epidural at around 4:30pm so it didn’t hurt. Around 10:30 stuff starting getting real fast. I started feeling the pains stronger and worse than before the epidural and it only increased more and more. It feels like a blur because of the pain and pressure but around or after 12am I started feeling the intense pressure in my butt and vagina with each contraction. By this point my nurse kept going Mia after her initial shift change cervix check where I was 7.5cm dilated. I started having a severe allergic reaction to the epidural and itching severely so I called and asked for Benadryl since the nurse had disappeared for hours. When someone brought it to me they informed me she’s been busy taking care of someone else. Each time someone else came in they were replacing the replacement cause they all kept going on “lunch” I tried telling 3 different nurses that I really felt something wasn’t right and she was in my vagina and I needed to push and no one believed me or checked my cervix since it progressed so slow all day. By 1am I was shaking profusely and with each contraction I told my fiancée something wasn’t right and she’s there and I felt the hiccups right at my opening and felt the extreme pressure and urge. He finally called again to the nurses since no one had been checking in and ANOTHER nurse says they’re filling in for the replacement and he asked if I wanted him to check my cervix I said YES!! Lol so he pulls back the sheet and I didn’t know but I had already pooped and the nurse asks my fiancée, “do you want to see her head?” SHE WAS RIGHT THERE CROWNING! He freaks out and calls the other nurses and my doctor and they told me I could start to push. I said no I want to wait for my doctor because I was terrified and no one even had the time to tell me how to breathe and push. I couldn’t wait so I started and she walked in just in time to pull her head out and with 6 pushes she was out without me even screaming or anything. I pushed for about 6-8 minutes. The nurses were shocked that it went from 0-100 and said they all hope they have labors that easy and that it was amazing😂 my body basically did the work for me because we didn’t start pushing sooner. I got a second degree tear and my fiancée cut the cord and they placed her on my chest and I was in awe. We were instantly so in love. The first cry was so surreal and giving birth was the most amazing thing I’ve ever done. She was 37 weeks 4 days 7.8oz and 20 1/4in long of perfection on July 19th at 2:26am. Once I had her I didn’t even care about the trauma of the birth at all. I’d do it again and again.
