Coronavirus test?

So we just him found out last night that we’ve been exposed to coronavirus. I decided to go get tested just for peace of mind. How bad is the test?? I’ve heard some people say it’s horrible pain, and other people say it’s not that bad. I don’t know what to think. 😂

I don't know how it is but I think about it this way, if it is painful are you still going to take it? I think the pain is pretty temporary compared to the price of mind that it will bring.

You’ll be fine. It’s not exactly pleasant but it’s a test, so what ones are? 
I have to get one when I go into labor (hopefully sometime between today and next Thursday!!) and our school is testing all students and faculty when we reopen and periodically (private boarding).

The nasal swab was very uncomfortable for my mom. It was quick, but she was off the rest of the day. Obviously, the testing is necessary, and they try to do it as quickly and painlessly as possible. Other people I know have said it’s not great, but not a huge deal. Prepare for the worst and hope to be pleasantly surprised.

People exaggerate. I administer the tests. The worse one goes up the nose and causes some temporary discomfort.  Takes up 10 seconds and you may feel the need to sneeze. For me an iv being placed is much more painful.

The best way I can describe the test is getting pool water up your nose when you go swimming. It's not that bad. Uncomfortable, yes. But it's only about 10 seconds. Not bad

My husband had be tested this weekend since he had a minor surgery. They just swabbed his throat and he said the lady was gentle about it and it wasn't bad, but I think it depends on the person doing the test and if they do your throat/nose/blood sample.

I havent had a test yet but I am required to get one before I go back to work and they said its just a swab.
