Signs of OCD?
So, I was wondering if you’re able to have OCD without having “ticks.” I have really bad anxiety. I got diagnosed with depression and panic disorder when I was 16 but I’ve had anxiety way longer than that. I’m now 20 and I still have horrible intrusive thoughts. These are thoughts of impending doom, all day, every day. No matter how hard I try, they seem to keep coming back. I obsess over these thoughts to the point my body aches if I don’t give in and research what I’m scared of. I can’t look at the news because it’s all shitty politics and stuff, but if I don’t look, I get super bad anxiety and like I said, ache. It’s hard to explain. I am also a hypochondriac to a certain extent. I am constantly checking myself for tumors. My armpit hurt one day and I freaked out thinking I for sure had a swollen lymph node. Now with COVID, if I think about people near me being sick, I start feeling symptoms. When, obviously, I know I’m not sick. The only way I’m able to stop worrying about it, is if I ask my boyfriend if everything is okay. I can’t convince myself that everything is good so I need somebody else to do it.
I don’t know if this is important but I also get super upset when I’m not in control. I can barely cook with my boyfriend because I get upset that he’s not cooking the way I want to cook it. That’s just an example but I’m that way with a lot of things.
I was just wondering if this could be OCD? I don’t know much about it other than it’s an anxiety disorder. I just have been struggling a lot with it.
