I had what is known as a vaginal abrasion. It’s a tear down there but not severe enough to need stitches. I’m 6 weeks postpartum and it still hurts just as much as it did in the beginning. I’ve stopped bleeding lochia but I noticed that I was bleeding from where this abrasion is. My doctor assured me over Tele Health that it might just be in a hard place to heal but I shouldn’t be hurting this much 6 weeks after birth right? And I definitely shouldn’t be bleeding from cuts down there. It’s painful enough that I have to take 800 mg of ibuprofen and raw to the touch. I don’t know what to do and I’m worried that I may have needed extra stitches and didn’t get them. I keep it clean down there because I’m terrified of this open cut getting infected. I don’t understand why it won’t heal at all. Has anyone experienced this? Have any of your doctors talked about this? I’m so tired of hurting down there. Please help.
