I went to CareNow yesterday because my tonsil was swollen and looked infected. I thought I had strep so they tested me and it came back negative. They tested me for mono as well and that came back negative too. She prescribed me some amoxicillin and a mouthwash and told me they weee just gonna treat it like strep because they didn’t know what it was. I woke up today and cleared my throat and a big hunk of puss/discharge came out of the infected tonsil and now I just have a hole in my tonsil! There’s still puss inside that hasn’t dislodged. Should I be alarmed? I’m in way less pain than I was yesterday but now I’m concerned because of how big the hole is and it looks irritated.
