My nephew (8) lost his father a couple of days ago😔 they were very close. At the beginning of the year my sister moved to a different state so they hadn’t seen each other since January.. His dads funeral will be held on Thursday. It will be open casket. My sister won’t be attending because of COVID and she’s 8 months pregnant but my nephew will go with his grandma. My sister wants to know if it’s a good idea for him see his dad for the last time at the funeral or not. She thinks it’s best for my nephew to remember him as the last they saw eachother. But she doesn’t want him to regret not seeing him later in life.

My question is for those of you who have unfortunately lost their fathers at a young age. What would you recommend?
