Ikea highchair

What do you think about the Ikea highchair?

We have it and love it. We’ve used it for our now 6 year old and our 18 month old is currently using it. When they make a mess we throw the whole thing in the shower and spray it down. I know people talk about there footrest but both kids are great eaters with no problems.

The IKEA one is great for a short period, we only used it when traveling or visiting family or friends. There's no foot rest, and the seat is pretty big so you have to add pillows it blankets for your little one to get any support (if they need it of course). We have a Tripp Trapp as out every day chair, and it's just a different class over it, but again a different price point too.

I have it. I love the minimalist look to it. In my opinion high chairs don’t need to be fancy. But that’s just me.

LOVE the ikea high chair!! Cleans so easy. Having no footrest didn’t seem to bother my daughter. We did use a exercise band for a little while but ended up taking it off. But like others have said there are options to add a footrest to it. I’m usually one that likes to buy the high end baby items. But this is one thing I’m so glad I went cheap on!

Everyone is talking about a footrest but let me add that I did buy one on Etsy and it won’t cost your more that 40 bucks to add it on to this specific chair. Still cheaper than a 300 dollar high chair :)

There’s no foot rest. I looked into buying it since my friend loves the minimalist look and has this high chair. But the more I researched the more I saw that a foot rest was important for comfort and to help the baby be able to focus on eating. I saw an occupational therapist relate it to an adult sitting on a bar stool and that bar stool not having a foot rest. The whole time you’d be swinging your legs, wiggling, crossing your knees, trying to find a comfortable way to sit. It’s hard to focus on eating/drinking/chatting as an adult, it’s even harder for babies.
