What do you do for a living? And how did you get there?

Question

I'm only a high school grad but I'm currently a SAHM. I'd like to either go back to school or a trade school and have a career when my baby goes to school but I honestly don't even know what I want to do. What do you do and how much schooling/experience do you have to be there?

I’m a teacher with my masters.
I ended up here because I want to make a positive difference in the world... and I love having people who don’t know shit about pedagogy tell me how to do my job or run my classroom 🙃

I’m a dog groomer. Went to school to be a veterinary Assistant and graduated, then realized I just didn’t connect well with the field so I switched to working in a rescue as a kennel technician, realized again I really didn’t connect with the field, worked at a chick fil a for a bit just to make money and hated everyday there, saw a local dog groomer hiring and I took the chance.

I'm an aquatic biologist. Got a bachelor's in biology and interned at a local company during the summers. I don't really recommend it unless someone's really feeling the passion - jobs are pretty crap pay for what you do, although the satisfaction is usually huge. 
I'm getting my master's in data analytics and moving into programming and statistics instead, better pay and fewer ticks/poison ivy.

I have my bachelor's in nursing and I'm an RN in a hospital. It took me 4 years to go to school and it's worth it. I make $28 an hour as a new grad. It's Enough that I can support myself and my boyfriend who just lost his job and and he might go back to school full time and take a break from work while in school

I'm a medical imaging technologist and I ended up here, because I love the medical field but I couldn't bring myself to have the responsibility of a Dr and I don't have a strong enough stomach to deal with what nurses have to deal with 😂🙌

I’m a preschool teacher but currently going to school for nursing, just completed my prerequisites. Im a single mom of 2 so it’s taken me a little longer. I’m going to get my CNA certificate at a private school which will only take me a month to complete so I can start working  in that area while I get in to the nursing program. Once I’m in, it’s 2 years for my ADN (at a community college) and then a year more for my BSN at a University.

I have a masters degree in science, worked in genetic research for my masters thesis, BS in biology and I can't find a job in my area bc of tge lack of experience, which is frustrating. I graduated last year. 
After my BS I did teach science. And next week I go back to teaching but this time early grades. 
If was today, I would not go to a 4 years degree course. I would go to a 2 years program like technician, MRI for example get very good pay, physical therapist assistant... if you don't like the health area I would invest in a Human Resource (office job) for example. Is always in needed.

I'm a SAHM with 6 kids. I have 4 from a previous marrige and 2 with my husband. After I had my 4th child I went to Community College to get my CNA license. I worked as a CNA for almost 5 years in Skilled Nursing Facilities and then decided to take a break and do home health care instead. I had hoped to work in a hospital but couldn't get hired, most places wanted experience in a hospital setting and wouldn't give me a chance. I let my license expire and after that I worked in a Market/Deli as a cashier. I actually enjoyed that job alot and met some cool people. When I had my daughter in 2017 my husband and I decided I'd stay home. Im not sure what I'm going to do when my babies are school aged, probably just get some random part time job to keep myself busy lol. There was a time in my life where I had hoped to become an RN but by the time I would be able to pursue that I'd be in my 40s so for me I  feel like that ship has sailed. You just gotta find something you would enjoy doing!

I work at a bank. It's not my forever career but I got here by having extensive customer service and cash handling experience. Anything else they require is usually taught like sales. I am going to college for a bachelor's in business with a focus on human resource management. For that you'll need four years of college. I do plan to get my masters so that's another couple years
